Nuvo Iron™ is the leading provider of residential and commercial chain link, iron fencing, and ornamental decking and accessories in North America. We manufacture quality fence and deck products and distribute to major retailers and fence installers across the globe.
The Logistics Specialist coordinates the shipment, tracking, and delivery of inventory and finished goods. This role liaises with carriers, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods across Canada and the United States.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Coordinate and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Schedule transportation with carriers and freight providers
- Prepare shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, customs documentation)
- Manage import/export processes, including customs compliance and HS codes
- Maintain accurate shipment tracking and system updates (SAP or similar)
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status and delays
- Obtain proof of delivery (POD) and resolve shipment discrepancies
- Investigate and submit freight claims as required
- Coordinate returns and reverse logistics
- Source and negotiate transportation services to optimize cost efficiency
- Reconcile open delivery reports and monitor outstanding shipments
- Support compliance reporting (e.g., CHEP, ASN reporting)
- Perform daily shipping/courier processes (e.g., Canada Post)
- All other duties as assigned
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures
- Identify and report hazards, risks, or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (asset)
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics or shipping coordination
- Experience with customs processes (Canada/US import/export)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires strong attention to detail and decision-making. Daily interaction with internal teams and external partners.
Work hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.
