Our client is seeking a Sourcing Materials GDS Advisor to support operational, project, and strategic procurement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience managing competitive sourcing processes, negotiating supplier agreements, coordinating material purchases, and delivering cost-saving solutions while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
What's the Job?
- Act as the designated Procurement Lead for assigned operational and capital projects.
- Support regional procurement activities and handle day-to-day purchasing requirements.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including RFI, RFP, and RFQ preparation, bid evaluations, recommendations, and purchase order issuance.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with established policies, procedures, and user requirements.
- Develop, negotiate, and assist with the execution of supplier agreements.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through optimized pricing and strategic sourcing methods.
- Coordinate procurement activities for multiple projects, including large-scale equipment acquisitions.
- Facilitate pre-bid and post-bid meetings to assess supplier capabilities and project deliverables.
- Research supply sources, validate sole-source requests, and determine procurement strategies.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties, contract conditions, and change orders.
- Evaluate supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain procurement records in compliance with audit and SOX requirements.
- Investigate and resolve procurement-related issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between project teams, consultants, and suppliers.
- Support business development efforts by providing pricing, delivery timelines, and procurement insights.
- Assist with supplier qualification processes and mentor team members when required.
- Stay informed on supply chain management trends and market conditions.
What's Needed?
- Related university degree.
- Minimum 4+ years of procurement experience.
- Experience preparing and managing RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Advanced analytical and mathematical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management and communication skills.

Asset Qualifications:
- Enrollment in or progress toward the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent designation.
