Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lot Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the organization and safety of our vehicle lot, assisting with vehicle movement, and ensuring the proper handling of freight. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and commercial vehicles. The Lot Attendant plays a vital role in supporting our operations by ensuring vehicles are properly stored, moved, and maintained in a safe environment.
Duties
- Move and park vehicles efficiently within the lot using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary
- Assist with loading and unloading freight, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and freight to identify any damages or maintenance needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lot area to promote safety and operational efficiency
- Operate commercial driving equipment to transport vehicles or freight as required
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle status, lot conditions, and safety concerns
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries in the work environment
- Support other team members with moving vehicles or freight as needed
Experience
- Prior experience with mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance or repair is preferred
- Experience operating forklifts or other industrial equipment is a plus
- Commercial driving experience, including valid licenses, is desirable
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures is beneficial
- Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating tasks effectively
- Ability to move heavy objects safely and efficiently is required
- Previous experience working in a logistics, transportation, or vehicle management environment is advantageous
