Strada is currently filling skilled positions for our 2025 and 2026 asphalt crew. There is no union requirement. Strada offers industry competitive pay including benefits and a company vehicle to foreman positions.
Work hours will often be long and will include some weekends. Successful candidates should be hardworking, self- motivated and enthusiastic team players, willing and ready to work with all personalities. Work to begin late April and end in December.
When paving work is not available crews will be asked to perform landscaping and excavation duties such as jobsite preparation, reinstatements of soft-scape and installation of interlock pavers.
Positions available:
- Paving Foreman $40-45/hr.
- Minimum 5 years experience managing a crew of 5 or more employees.
- Minimum 5 years experience operating an Asphalt Paver. Company owns a Cat 255E.
- Line and grade experience.
- Residential and commercial asphalt paving.
- This candidate must be well versed in all areas of asphalt paving and should be able to give guidance to less skilled workers on the crew.
- Scheduling and material orders. The ideal candidate is required to know how to measure for asphalt and granular quantities, then place the orders accordingly with the assigned trucking units.
- Rakeman/ Luteman $30-35/hr
- Finish grading for base and asphalt.
- Raking joints and areas where the paver cannot reach.
- Assisting with finishing asphalt.
- Must have an "eye" for elevation, and direction of slope without measurement.
- General Labourers $25-30/hr.
- Help with general tasks during job setup and cleanup.
- Deliver materials by hand (shovel, wheelbarrow ect.)
- Heavy lifting.
- Use of power tools (Saws, compactors, jack hammers).
- Shoeing and finishing asphalt when directed.
- Roller Operator/ Finishers $30-35/hr.
- Rolling placed asphalt with the correct overlap and rolling pattern.
- Shoeing and hand tamping and finishing areas where the roller cannot fit.
- Operate compaction equipment.
- Daily maintenance checks.
- Assist with general labour tasks when needed.

Qualifications Required
- WHMIS and MOL 4 step must be up to date.
- Must have experience operating a company truck if required to drive.
- Must have experience towing and reversing a trailer if required to drive.
- Customer service skills (politely communicate with clients and supervisor).
- G Class License with abstract available upon request.
- A form of transportation to Strada's place of business
- Steel Toe Boots and Hard Hat.
- Five years minimum experience in landscaping or paving.
- Mechanically inclined and can perform maintenance.
- The ability to work extended hours in hot temperatures.
- Must be capable of working with others and have a positive team mentality.
PPE Provided by Strada as required.
