A Day in the Life
The Order Desk is the center of the operation. You'll be answering calls and emails from electricians, contractors, and purchasing managers across the country processing orders, checking stock, and making sure customers get the right part the first time. Product knowledge is everything in this business, and you'll be building it from day one.
Beyond the Order Desk, this role keeps you active across the full operation. You'll spend time in the shop testing, inspecting, and reconditioning circuit breakers and electrical equipment before they ship, hands-on technical work that gives you a direct understanding of what you're selling. Full training is provided. You'll also be pulling and packing orders, managing incoming and outgoing shipments, keeping inventory accurate and organized, and running our fluorescent lamp disposal equipment. When product needs to move, picking up from a vendor or delivering to a customer site in Calgary, that falls to you as well.
Civic is a small, close-knit operation. Everyone on the team is expected to pitch in where needed, no task is beneath anyone, and that attitude is essential to how we function.
Qualifications
- Fluent English, spoken and written (required)
- Clean driving record (required)
- Punctual, reliable, and self-directed
- Able to work effectively in an office, shop and warehouse environment
- An electrical background (apprentice, journeyman) is an asset
- Experience in electrical sales is an asset
Compensation & Hours
- Full-time, permanent employment
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- No evenings or weekends
- Comprehensive on-the-job training provided
- Defined advancement path into inside sales and order desk management
