Job Title: Dual – Room Attendant/Laundry Attendant

About The Role
We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Housekeeping team in a dual Room Attendant/Laundry Attendant position. This hybrid role is essential to delivering the “wow” factor our guests experience the moment they walk into our hotel and their guest room. You’ll help ensure every space is spotless, comfortable, and welcoming – while also supporting the smooth, efficient operation of our laundry services.
Room Attendant Responsibilities:
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms and areas according to established standards.
- Make beds, dust, vacuum, sanitize bathrooms, remove trash, and restock amenities.
- Follow all safety and chemical-handling procedures in accordance with hotel and legislative guidelines.
- Greet and acknowledge guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Notify supervisors when rooms are ready for occupancy or if a room cannot be serviced.
- Report maintenance issues, unsafe conditions, or security concerns immediately.
- Respond to guest requests and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor and control supplies to minimize waste.
- Log and turn in lost and found items according to policy.
Laundry Attendant Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor washing, drying, and dry-cleaning machinery.
- Load/unload machines; clean lint traps, filters, and drain traps after each cycle.
- Inspect items for stains or damage; determine whether to treat, rewash, repair or discard.
- Feed linens into machines and ensure proper temperature and timing settings.
- Fold, sort, and shelve all laundry items including: towels, linens, blankets, duvets, and mattress covers.
- Maintain accurate records of laundered items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room (vacuuming, dusting, sweeping).
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs (14 kg)
- Ability to push/pull medium to large carts or equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Able to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous large-volume hotel housekeeping experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot areas needing extra care.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills (for room assignments, checklists, inventory).
- Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and follow through with minimal supervision.
- Calm, courteous, and professional under pressure.
- Ability to work cohesively with other departments and team members.
Schedule Requirements
- 8-hour shifts
- Day and evening shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Flexibility to meet operational needs
