Lunetterie D’Orleans is offering a fantastic part-time opportunity for an Optometrist, available to start in September 2026 in the heart of Orleans. Our clinic serves a diverse patient base, including both senior and pediatric populations. We offer a fully set up exam room as well as a pretest room fitted with TopCon equipment. On the team is a licensed optician, and clinic director to support patient care and experience. We have already started a waitlist for appointments and are looking to support the growth of our optometrists patient base. Duties
- Perform detailed eye examinations to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and pediatric eye issues.
- Prescribe corrective lenses such as glasses and contact lenses tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Educate patients on eye health maintenance, preventive care, and treatment options to promote long-term wellness.
- Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and ensure seamless patient service.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems like Epic, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide specialized care for senior patients and pediatric populations, addressing age-specific visual needs with compassion and expertise.
Experience
- Proven experience in optical practice or clinical optometry with a strong foundation in patient care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to ocular health and general medicine.
- Experience working with electronic health record systems such as Epic is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care practices and pediatric optometry enhances your ability to serve diverse patient groups effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with a diverse patient base while delivering thorough explanations of diagnoses and treatment plans.
