Position: Digital Media Officer

Overview
The Executive Council is seeking a high-performing, detail-oriented Digital Media Officer with a specialty in videography and photography. The role creates polished visual content that documents events, supports public communications and tells clear, compelling stories. Travel, overnight travel and some evening or weekend work will be required.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical and creative expertise across the full production cycle, including concept development, shot planning, location assessment, camera operation, lighting and audio capture. Responsibilities include photographing and filming announcements, events and other activities; producing video messages; editing, colour-correcting and delivering accessible content for digital and social media channels; maintaining an organized visual asset library; and caring for production equipment. The role also provides operational support for press conferences and events, including equipment setup, livestreaming and site advances. This position can be based in Regina or Saskatoon.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through:
- A combination of post-secondary education in photography, videography, film or video production, visual communications or a related field, and one to three years of relevant professional experience
- Intermediate experience with a variety of editing programs, such as Adobe Creative Cloud Programs
- A portfolio or demo reel demonstrating professional photography, videography, editing, visual composition and storytelling across a range of assignments
- Experience working in a team-based environment
- Experience in a political setting is preferred, but not required

- Intermediate to advanced operation of professional mirrorless or digital single-lens reflex cameras, video cameras, lenses, stabilizers and related accessories in studio and on location
- Strong visual storytelling, composition and photojournalistic judgment, with the ability to select images and footage that accurately represent events and messages
- Strong knowledge of lighting, exposure, focus, colour management and professional audio recording techniques
- Experience editing photographs and video, including colour correction, audio mixing, captions, titles and delivery in formats optimized for social media and livestreams
