Position Summary
As a Blind and Shade Assembler, you will manufacture custom window coverings according to customer specifications. You will work with a variety of materials and production equipment to assemble products accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble custom blinds, shades, and window covering components according to work orders and production specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and package products using fabric, aluminum, steel, wood, plastic, and other materials.
- Safely operate production equipment, including cutting machines, presses, staplers, and other assembly tools.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards for appearance, dimensions, functionality, and workmanship.
- Identify production defects or quality concerns and report or correct them promptly.
- Maintain an organized work area and assist with material handling, inventory replenishment, and general production housekeeping.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production schedules and customer deadlines.
- Assist with loading, packaging, shipping preparation, or occasional installation of window coverings when required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of productivity and workmanship.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is an asset but not required.
- Experience with blinds, shades, or window coverings is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to read measurements accurately and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new equipment, manufacturing processes, and production techniques.
- Ability to safely work at heights of up to 20 feet using ladders or scaffolding when required.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lb (23 kg).
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks using hands and arms.
- Bend, reach, twist, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Safely operate production equipment while following established procedures.
Schedule
Monday to Friday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation
- Starting wage: $19.00 per hour
- After successful training and demonstrated proficiency across production functions, compensation typically increases to $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on performance, skills, and experience.
