Created by the team behind BarChef and Prequel & Co., Compton Ave. features an English-inspired cocktail and food program rooted in the globally recognized Frankie Solarik culinary approach, incorporating original recipes, in-house infusions, syrups, bitters, and highly detailed flavour combinations.
Compton Ave. is seeking a Manager to oversee daily operations, uphold service standards, and lead overall team performance. This role is integral to maintaining the consistency, structure, and execution required to operate at a high level in a fast-paced, late-night cocktail bar environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring service, staffing, and execution align with Compton Ave. standards
- Act as a key leader on the floor, maintaining strong control of service flow, guest experience, and team performance
- Lead, coach, and hold FOH team members accountable to expectations around service, communication, professionalism, and hospitality
- Assist in building schedules, managing labour targets, and adjusting staffing levels based on business needs
- Monitor and report on sales performance, labour costs, and operational metrics
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are executed consistently and to standard
- Maintain a high level of floor presence, actively managing guest interactions and resolving issues in real time
- Work closely with the bar and kitchen teams to ensure seamless communication and execution between departments
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of FOH staff
- Enforce company policies, standards, and systems across all areas of service
- Assist with inventory oversight, ordering, and maintaining pars where required
- Support the execution of private events, semi-private bookings, large parties, and high-volume service periods
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement structured solutions
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the venue, including guest-facing, shared, and back-of-house spaces
- Ensure responsible alcohol service practices and adherence to all AGCO regulations
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience required, with a strong background in high-volume or high-end cocktail service
- 2+ years of management experience required, ideally in a leadership role overseeing teams and daily operations
- Strong understanding of service standards, floor management, and guest experience execution
- Experience managing labour, scheduling, inventory, and basic financial reporting
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and operational structure
- Proven ability to lead a team, enforce standards, and drive accountability
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure, late-night environments without compromising quality
- Strong communication skills, both with staff and guests
- Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling platforms, and reporting tools
- Open availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night service
