Seasonal Equipment Operators
Purpose of the position
The position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following duties and responsibilities:

Operates small to medium equipment regularly, including but not limited to tandems, end-dumps, packers, back hoes, skid steers, loaders, excavators, etc.

Ensures equipment and project sites are maintained to standard, completing daily clean-up/maintenance (i.e. road maintenance sites, brushing/ditches, signs, etc.).

Performs manual labour.

Conducts pre- and post-operational checks on all assigned equipment. Performs regular maintenance on trucks and equipment.

Participates in “on-call” rotation as needed.

Participate in safety protocols, administrative tasks, and other duties as required

Strong customer service skills, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, and ability work cooperatively with others.

Work environment: various field sites / remote work, exposure to the elements and wildlife. Ability to complete long distance hauling.

To be successful in this position, you will:

Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Class 1 driver’s license
-
1 to 2 years related experience operating belly dumps, tandem box trucks, water trucks, CAT road reclaimer, & oil distribution truck

Ability to lift, push, pull, move 50lbs plus
-
Hold relevant safety tickets for related field work (i.e. First Aid, WHMIS, Operator Safety, Air Brake Endorsement, etc...)

Clean criminal record check, acceptable driver's abstract, and pass medical assessment

Position details:

Salary range for Seasonal Equipment Operator: $30.41 to $34.38 depending on qualifications

Temporary Full-time working as soon as possible to end of season (usually end of October depending on the weather)

Hours: Based on a 40-hour workweek. Working days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Preference will be given to qualified Lac La Biche County residents
