Position Summary
The Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preventative servicing of all golf course maintenance equipment and related machinery at Morningstar Golf Club. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the golf course maintenance team has safe, reliable, and properly functioning equipment to consistently deliver exceptional playing conditions.
Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Technician manages the equipment maintenance facility, maintains accurate service records, and develops preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment performance and lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing all brands of small gas and diesel engines
- Executing electrical repairs for 12 volt DC, 3 phase power motor controls and low voltage PLC based controllers. Relay - contactor diagnosis and replacement.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive workplace
- Source and order safety gear and shop supplies for the grounds keepers and workshop.
- Completing accurate record keeping of all parts, purchases, and service / repair work orders
- Sourcing and ordering all necessary parts for repair, verifying best value purchases and inventory control.
- Overseeing a preventative maintenance program for our course maintenance equipment fleets and irrigation pumps.
- Hydraulic schematic reading and troubleshooting. Well experienced in the custom manufacture of hydraulic hoses and tubing
Qualifications
- 5 + years’ experience in maintaining automotive, golf course or heavy-duty equipment
- Experience with welding and grinding equipment is required.
- Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and safe handling of fuels, lubricants, and chemicals
- Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
- Valid driver’s License
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
- $32 - $38/ hour based off of experience
