As a Speech Language Pathologist II (SLP II), you will utilize evidence-informed practices to support children with concerns related to speech, language, and swallowing/feeding disorders. You will provide comprehensive services, including screening, consultation, assessment, collaborative goal setting, education, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders; including children and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. You'll leverage excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication to work with various health professionals and families.
In this role, you'll work independently and alongside an inter-professional team to deliver prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation services tailored to each child’s needs. The SLP II will provide direct care, education, and support to clients/family members/partners in the home/community, and ambulatory clinic setting as determined by the program.
Description:
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners.
You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners.
Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active registration with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Minimum of 3 years pediatric experience, in acute care, community or outpatient clinic. Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric speech, language, communication, swallowing/feeding and related disorders. Able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to educate and/or support with a focus on family centered care. Ability to collaborate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team and community service providers. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting pediatric clients in a community setting. Registration with CASLPA, Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists. PLEASE NOTE: This is an ON-SITE position that requires reporting to an office site daily. There is no opportunity for remote work.
