Construction & Snow Removal Professional
KR Contracting – Halton & Peel Region, ON
$20–$50 per hour, based on experience and skill level
KR Contracting is a growing local property maintenance and landscape construction company serving the Halton and Peel regions. Our work includes landscape construction, interlock and natural stone, armour stone, retaining walls, fences, property maintenance, tree care, and commercial winter maintenance.
We are looking for a motivated, reliable and experienced Construction & Snow Removal Professional to join our team on a year-round basis.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, is comfortable operating equipment, and wants the opportunity to work across a variety of construction and winter maintenance projects.
Construction & Summer Responsibilities
- Work alongside the foreman and crew to complete landscape construction and property improvement projects
- Interlock and natural stone installation
- Armour stone and retaining wall construction
- Fencing and other outdoor construction projects
- Planting trees and plant material
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, excavators, compact loaders and power wheelbarrows
- Safely operate power tools and other construction equipment
- Load, unload and transport materials
- Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles
- Work efficiently as part of a team and take direction from the foreman
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized job site
- Perform other duties as required
Winter Snow Removal Responsibilities
- Operate pickup truck plows, salt trucks, loaders, skid steers and other winter maintenance equipment
- Perform snow plowing, snow removal, shovelling and de-icing
- Complete site inspections and snow-watch monitoring as required
- Respond to snow events and changing weather conditions
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and hours worked
- Perform basic equipment inspections and maintenance
- Assist with snow relocation and other winter maintenance duties as required
Requirements
- Valid G-Class driver's licence
- Previous winter maintenance experience is required
- Landscape construction, hardscape or property maintenance experience is strongly preferred
- Experience operating skid steers, loaders, excavators or other heavy equipment is an asset
- Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers and various equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs+
- Physically capable of walking, standing, bending, lifting and working for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from our yard
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Dependable and punctual
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be available for variable winter shifts, including nights, weekends and on-call snow events
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$45/hour, based on experience, qualifications and equipment operated
- Weekly standby pay during the winter season

The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who shows up, works hard and takes pride in what they do.
You don't need to know how to do everything on day one, but you should be mechanically inclined, willing to learn, comfortable working outside and capable of handling physical work. Experience operating equipment and working in landscape construction or winter maintenance will be considered a strong asset.
