Matrix HR is looking for a reliable and skilled Part-Time Mechanic to join our client’s team. This role focuses on routine maintenance and minor repairs for light trucks, vans, and 1-tonne pickups.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and checking/replenishing fluids such as coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid to ensure vehicles run safely and efficiently.
- Inspect brakes and perform minor repairs or replacements to maintain optimal safety standards.
- Diagnose minor mechanical and electrical problems using visual inspections and basic diagnostic tools, and provide clear recommendations for necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and ready for use.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and shop procedures, using personal protective equipment and proper lifting techniques when handling vehicles or components.
Requirements:
- Previous mechanic or automotive technician experience is an asset
- Completion of an Automotive Service Technician program, an apprenticeship, or equivalent training is considered an asset.
- Experience with light trucks, vans, or 1-tonne pickups
- Knowledge of basic maintenance and minor repairs
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to lift moderate weight (~50 lbs) and work on vehicle lifts
