Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations at our bustling cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel experience is highly valued, along with expertise in food preparation, cooking, and food handling. The Cafe Manager will play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring the highest standards of service and quality are maintained.
Duties
- Supervise daily cafe operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and cash handling using Micros POS systems
- Lead and manage a team of staff, including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely stock replenishment
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with safety standards
- Implement operational policies to improve efficiency and service quality
- Assist in menu planning and product development to enhance customer satisfaction
- Monitor sales performance and prepare reports for upper management
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, leadership development, and high morale
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership; supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards, food safety practices, and kitchen operations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS; cash handling experience required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations gracefully
- Leadership qualities with experience in team management, interviewing, and training staff
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is advantageous; barista experience is a plus
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills and a professional demeanor
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures
- Experience with restaurant management software and inventory control systems
