Position Overview
Childminding staff are responsible for supervising children in the Childminding Centre, creating an engaging and safe atmosphere while following ECAC’s childminding policies. This role requires patience, attentiveness, and a passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities
1. Child Supervision & Engagement
- Provide a safe, caring, and interactive environment for children in the Childminding Centre.
- Actively engage in age-appropriate activities such as reading, games, and creative play.
- Supervise play areas to ensure safety and positive interactions among children.
2. Safety & Care
- Follow all childminding policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of children.
- Ensure children are signed in and out properly by an authorized parent or guardian.
- Monitor children for signs of illness or distress and notify the Childminding Lead or parents if needed.
- Keep the Childminding area clean and organized, sanitizing toys and equipment
as required.
3. Communication & Customer Service
- Greet parents and children warmly, creating a friendly and professional
atmosphere.
- Communicate with parents about their child’s experience and any concerns that
arise during their visit.
- Report any incidents, injuries, or behavioral concerns to the Childminding Lead
and parents as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience working with children in childcare, recreation, education, or
related settings preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both children and
parents.
- CPR and First Aid certification (infant and child) or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to handle multiple children in a group setting while ensuring safety and
engagement.
- Must pass a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
