The Opportunity
We're seeking a part-time IT Technician to support day-to-day client IT operations and assist in special projects—including cloud migrations, network improvements, and cybersecurity implementation. This role is a key contributor to helping us deliver on-site and remote support to a high-impact organization with multiple locations in the Downtown Vancouver area.
You will be engaged on-call for hands-on tasks like workstation deployments, troubleshooting, server decommissioning, firewall installations, and wireless optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote and in-person Help Desk support (hardware/software/network)
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding and workstation setup
- Support cloud migrations to Microsoft 365 / SharePoint
- Implement and test backups and endpoint protection tools
- Troubleshoot and improve wired/wireless network reliability
- Assist with MFA setup, password policy enforcement, and Microsoft Entra ID transitions
- Coordinate with vendors for VoIP, QuickBooks, and third-party platforms (e.g., Shiftlink, ADP)
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in an IT support, systems, or technician role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with remote desktop tools, VPNs, firewall devices, and backup systems
- Ability to troubleshoot on Windows and macOS
- Valid BC driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle (travel to client sites required)
- Experience working with nonprofits or mission-driven organizations is a bonus
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work compassionately with users of all skill levels
