We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee both our Ayr, Ontario and San Luis Potosi, Mexico location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of the purchasing process of goods and services, guaranteeing an effective and up-to-date supply to other departments, with cost saving approach.
- Define strategy for department in agreement with overall company/category strategy.
- Establish purchasing processes and procedures.
- Lead budget development and cost savings initiatives.
- Ensure project/department milestones and goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
- Evaluate and analyze purchasing and price trends to identify forecast demand, present and future material availability as well as minimize purchasing costs.
- Drive decisions and influence change using negotiation skills, strong judgement, analytical skills and resourcefulness.
- Cooperate with other departments to stimulate and develop a partnership culture within the company.
- Lead strategic sourcing process.
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Veritas stakeholders.
- Participate / Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA's, General Terms and Conditions, Production Supply and Long Term Agreements.
- Maintains relationship with vendors.
- Prepare bid awards requiring upper Management approval.
- Attend sector fairs and visit main suppliers.
- Ensure development of department personnel.
- Management of Ontario, Canada and San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Purchasing departments according to needs and targets of the company.
- Serve as escalation point for issues.
- Guarantee compliance with Quality Assurance requirements in goods and materials.
- Compliance with the requirements specified in the procedures and instructions of the Integrated Management System according to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related discipline required, Master's degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, Cost Engineering or other similar disciplines. Automotive experience preferred.
- 5+ years purchasing management experience
- CPM and / or CPIM certified is a plus
- Global commodity experience
- Able to create win-win resolutions to conflict situations using analytical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced and evolving environment
- Skilled negotiator with previous experience in the automotive industry with some technical background
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Successful at building and leading high performing teams
- Effective listener and the ability to cultivate relationships in cross functional groups and earn trust
- Able to lead, coach and mentor Buyers of different seniority levels
- Able to build constructive, trusting relationships with our global supply base
- English language required, Spanish is a valuable plus
Physical demands: Minimal.
Travel required: Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time as required.

Pay: $154,000.00-$164,000.00 per year
