At Lineman's Testing Laboratories (LTL) a division of Rexel Utility, we help keep Canada's electrical utility and industrial sectors operating safely. As a trusted leader in high voltage testing and certification for over 65 years, we provide specialized testing, inspection, repair, and certification services for insulating rubber goods, live line tools, grounding equipment, voltage detectors, metering equipment, and other critical safety products.
We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor – Field & Lab Services to lead our laboratory and onsite operations. This is more than an operations management role—it's an opportunity to lead a skilled technical team, build strong customer relationships, drive operational excellence, and remain actively involved in the field alongside your team.

What You'll Do
As the Operations Supervisor - Field & Lab Services, you will oversee both laboratory operations and field services while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of laboratory technicians, field technicians, and facility staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety
- Recruit, onboard, develop and retain top technical talent
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support employee development
- Build team capability through ongoing training and mentorship
Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the laboratory and field services team
- Plan and coordinate workloads, staffing, and project schedules
- Ensure testing and inspection activities comply with ASTM, IEEE, CSA, NAIL Accreditation, and company quality standards
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and customer service
- Manage equipment, inventory, facility operations, and operational resources
Customer & Client Solutions
- Build trusted relationships with customers
- Support the Regional General Manager as the operational contact throughout customer projects
- Provide practical solutions to customer challenges while maintaining exceptional service
- Work collaboratively with customers to coordinate testing schedules and minimize operational downtime
- Ensure every project delivers an outstanding customer experience
Field Leadership
This is a true working leadership role.
Approximately 75% of your time will be spent travelling to customer remote locations.
- Lead onsite testing projects from planning through completion
- Work alongside technicians performing high voltage testing, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Provide technical guidance and coaching in the field
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Support emergency and priority customer requests when required
Vendor & Facility Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers
- Coordinate equipment purchases, repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure our facility operates safely, efficiently, and professionally
Safety & Quality
Safety is at the core of everything we do.
- Promoting safe work practices across both laboratory and field operations
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and all applicable regulations and industry standards
- Supporting audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining the high quality standards our customers have come to expect
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who combines strong leadership with technical credibility.
You have:
- 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in electrical testing, utilities, industrial services, or a related technical environment
- Experience leading technical teams in both shop and field environments
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Experience managing projects from planning through execution
- Excellent communication and people leadership abilities
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop others
- Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to leadership
- Working knowledge of ASTM, IEEE, CSA, and related electrical testing standards (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software
- A valid driver's licence

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
