Position Overview:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment to support landscaping, grading, snow removal, and other site-related activities. The role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines on residential and commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment for placing and grading topsoil, final grading, laying sod, snow removal, and loading trucks.
- Perform pre-trip checklists and ensure regular maintenance of equipment to maintain safety and operational efficiency.
- Assist with landscaping activities to meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Work collaboratively with contractors and coworkers on-site to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain a safe and efficient workflow, adhering to tight deadlines while meeting high-quality standards.
- Ensure equipment is used appropriately and safely for all project tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and actively contribute to maintaining a secure work environment.
- Report any issues with equipment or potential hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Perform duties on a variety of sites, including residential and commercial locations.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, maintaining safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
Skills and Attributes
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, carry, bend, and kneel, with the capacity to handle heavy loads (50 lbs and up).
- Attention to Detail: Ensure precision and accuracy in equipment operation and project tasks.

Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as Skid Steer and Loader
- Familiarity with tasks including topsoil grading, laying sod, snow removal, and landscaping.
- Strong understanding of pre-trip checklists and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with SiteDocs and LMN software is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
