What is the opportunity:
Energy Safety Canada is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to join our fast-paced Communications team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing and communications initiatives that support the Careers in Energy team and its strategic objectives.
What will you do:

Execute a variety of communications tactics, including email marketing and campaigns, external communications, analytics and reporting for the Careers in Energy team.

Maintain and manage content for the Careers in Energy website and social media for stakeholder communication, storytelling and driving audience awareness and engagement.

Collaborate in the creation and implementation of communications and marketing plans and schedules for the Careers in Energy team, ensuring alignment with project needs and adherence to timelines.

Take a proactive role in planning, coordinating and executing events, overseeing logistics and ensuring seamless execution.

Writing, reviewing, and editing newsletters for the Careers in Energy team.

Other duties as required.
What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or other related field is required.

Co-op, internship or relevant work experience considered an asset.

Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).

Experience with social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).

Experience with Google Analytics.
-
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Photoshop.

Experience with event planning is an asset.

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong writing, editing and formatting skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.

Ability to manage and update website content, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and audience engagement across digital platforms.

Working knowledge of social media platforms and content best practices, with the ability to create and schedule engaging content for a target audience.

Willingness to jump in and help with any task, big or small.

Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to act with independence and exercise sound judgment.

Demonstrated sensitivity, tact and initiative.
