Security Building Supplies in Saskatoon has an opportunity for a Driver/ Yard Worker to join our team. This person will report to the Operations Manager.
Duties:
- Look after contractors and helping customers find products, load/unload vehicles.
- Deliver building materials to locations in and around Saskatoon
- Safely Drive/Operate a 5-Ton, flat deck delivery vehicle
- Work safely and abide by OH&S standards/requirements.
- Unload transport trucks with product for the store and yard.
- Use proper material handling techniques to ensure minimal damage to yard inventory.
- Maintain the warehouse and yard areas, ensuring cleanliness of garbage.
- Must be available to work the occasional overtime when required.
- Ability to work as part of a team and keep pace in a busy environment.
- Other duties as assigned by Dispatch and Operations Manager.
- Ensuring products to be delivered matches paperwork at all times.
- Abiding by Traffic Laws, Hwy legislation at all times.
- Ensure all products leaving the yard have been invoiced.
- Be able to work in the yard during adverse weather conditions.
Requirements:
- 5A license required but 3A would be an additional asset.
- Own steel-toed boots
- Knowledge and experience in shipping and receiving would be beneficial
- Forklift certification would be an asset but willing to train the right person.
- Become knowledgeable about all products stored in the yard.
- Be physically fit and able to lift large, heavy and bulky objects up to 50lbs.
- High attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
