Fulltime and Parttime Operators needed
Blue Grass Sod Farms Ltd. is seeking experienced Loader Operators to join our team for the spring, summer, and snow removal season.
We are looking for reliable, motivated, hardworking individuals who are safety-oriented and customer-focused. The ideal candidate demonstrates calm and professional behaviour when dealing with customers and coworkers, works well under pressure, and is willing to work long shifts during busy periods, while providing exceptional customer service. Full-time positions are available.
Job Description
- Working in the yard to load customers with sod, aggregate products, trees, shrubs, edging, fabric, etc.
- Operate loaders or skid steers safely and efficiently
- Inspect equipment and off road VIRs prior to starting work and maintain proper care of yard equipment, weekly brief inspection of equipment is required
- Monitor aggregate bins and notify dispatch when bins are running low
- Assist with tending to grass and plant areas around the facility, Keep the yard area clean, organized, and safe
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a customer-oriented approach
- Communicate politely and respectfully with both customers and co-workers
- Maintain a calm and professional attitude when working under pressure or during busy periods
- Willing to assist with general labour duties when required, help with plant care
- Tarp and Untarp loads, help in unloading and loading trailers (including third party trucks)
- Prepare Loads for next day Deliveries a day before ( sometimes on same day early morning)
Desired Qualifications
- Property maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, or construction experience
- Skid steer or loader operating experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with customers
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs or more
- Enjoy working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Self-starter who works well in a solo setting with little supervision
- Possess strong time management skills and take pride in your work
- Safety-oriented mindset
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Mechanically inclined
- Willing to perform labour work as required
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to communicate politely and respectfully with coworkers and customers
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or higher (preferred)
- Complete work efficiently while adhering to Blue Grass’ safety policies and procedures
- Be available and willing to work long shifts when required
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Reliable transportation to the work site
- First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Availability to work extended or long shifts during peak season
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
