Metrican is a Tier 2 metal stamping facility supporting the automotive industry.

WHAT DOES THE JOB INVOLVE?
Primary functions of the Quality Engineers are to manage all internal and external quality issues, participate in all APQP actitivies, support all PPAP preparations and submissions, and perform audits as required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Respond to and address all customer concerns associated with assigned programs
- Update and maintain CAR log
- Review customer Corrective Actions and submit to the customer
- Implement and monitor containment actions for all customer related issues
- Build a rapport with the customers to better understand quality needs - on occasion customer visits may be required
- Participate in APQP process for new launches and take-over programs
- Develop Control Plans and PFMEAs
- Prepare PPAP documentations
- Review supplier PPAPs and follow up until full approval is achieved
- Coordinate GR&R students
- Manage early launch containment (GP12) for new launches
- Conduct IATF, LPA, Control Plan and Dock audits as required
- Liaison with suppliers to address quality issues through NCR systems
- Issue NCRs to the suppliers as required and follow up to obtain 8D
- Perform supplier onsite audits as required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years quality experience within the automotive industry
- Diploma in Quality Assurance is required
- Accustom to working in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable of the IATF 16949 QMS
- Experience with internal auditing to the IATF 16949 requirements
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, gauge fixture concepts and applications
- Strong knowledge and understanding of 8D process
- CQE certification would be an asset
COMPENSATION:
- $70,000 to $80,000 salary
