Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Concrete Form Labourer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will assist in the installation and removal of concrete forms, work alongside skilled tradespeople, and contribute to the successful completion of various concrete projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and familiarity with construction tools and techniques. Prior experience in concrete forming, masonry, or related fields is mandatory; training could be provided for the right candidate. The position offers an opportunity to develop a broad skill set within the construction industry and contribute to high-quality building projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and dismantling concrete forms according to project specifications and schematics
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during form installation and removal
- Support rebar installation, ensuring proper placement and securing as per blueprints
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as form panels, rebar, and other construction components
- Apply knowledge of carpentry, masonry, and concrete forming techniques to ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Aid in concrete finishing tasks including smoothing, leveling, and sealing surfaces as needed
- Follow safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, scaffolding, and site hazards
- Read blueprints or schematics to understand project requirements and ensure compliance with design specifications
- Assist in restoration or renovation activities related to existing structures when required
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the project
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, concrete forming, masonry, or related trades required; training available for motivated candidates
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more) and work in physically demanding conditions
- Knowledge of rebar installation, caulking, flooring installation, or concrete finishing is a plus
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is beneficial
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
- Ability to follow instructions accurately while adhering to safety standards
- Valid driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory depending on job site requirements
