LumenPath Psychotherapy and Social Work Services is a growing mental health practice providing trauma-informed, evidence-based psychotherapy and clinical services to individuals, couples, and families across Ontario.
We support clients experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, chronic stress, and adjustment difficulties.
As we continue expanding our services, we are seeking a Registered Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) to provide psychological services to individuals impacted by motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), personal injuries, trauma, and related life changes.
This opportunity is ideal for a psychologist interested in private practice, rehabilitation-focused care, and working collaboratively within a growing multidisciplinary mental health practice.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will provide psychological assessment and treatment services to clients referred through personal injury rehabilitation pathways, including referrals from:
- Rehabilitation professionals and healthcare providers
- Personal injury and legal professionals
- Community referral sources
The psychologist will support clients experiencing psychological impacts following motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, chronic pain, trauma, and significant changes in daily functioning.
This is an independent contractor position offering flexibility, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute to the development of LumenPath’s psychological services.
Key ResponsibilitiesPsychological Services
- Conduct psychological assessments and provide evidence-based psychological treatment within the psychologist’s scope of practice.
- Support clients experiencing concerns related to:
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety and depression
- Adjustment difficulties
- Chronic pain and disability-related emotional challenges
- Stress related to injury recovery and changes in functioning
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
- Provide psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches appropriate to client presentation, such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Trauma-focused interventions
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Other evidence-based psychological approaches.
Clinical Documentation & Reporting
The successful candidate will:
- Maintain accurate clinical records according to professional standards and ethical requirements.
- Complete clinical documentation, progress notes, treatment summaries, and reports as required.
- Provide psychological recommendations and clinical opinions within their professional scope.
- Complete insurer-related documentation and treatment recommendations when clinically appropriate, including automobile insurance-related documentation where applicable.
- Ensure all documentation meets the standards of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Collaboration & Communication
The psychologist will collaborate with other professionals involved in client care, including:
- Rehabilitation professionals
- Social workers and psychotherapists
- Occupational therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Case managers
- Other healthcare providers
The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to participate in coordinated, client-centred care while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
- Experience providing psychological services in private practice, rehabilitation, trauma, or clinical settings.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Ability to complete clinical documentation independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Motor vehicle accident (MVA) rehabilitation
- Personal injury cases
- Psychological assessments
- Trauma and PTSD treatment
- Chronic pain populations
- Insurance-funded mental health services
- Rehabilitation-focused care
Experience working with legal and healthcare referral systems is considered an asset.
