CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS SUPERVISOR

Our client, a well-established global organization, is seeking a Credit & Collections Team Lead to provide direction within the credit function, serve as a trusted advisor on complex matters and help shape how the team operates and grows.
This is an opportunity for a seasoned commercial credit professional who is ready to move beyond managing an assigned portfolio and take on broader influence. You’ll become the go-to resource for escalated credit and customer issues, mentor and guide credit professionals, support sound business decisions and partner with leadership to strengthen credit practices across the organization.

What You’ll Do:
● Provide leadership, guidance and support within the credit and collections function.
● Serve as the primary escalation point for complex credit, customer and risk-related matters.
● Coach, mentor and develop credit analysts, sharing expertise and strengthening team capabilities.
● Provide guidance on credit practices, customer negotiations, risk assessment and policy interpretation.
● Manage an assigned portfolio while maintaining consistent, accurate and proactive credit practices.
● Take ownership of challenging customer situations and oversee the timely resolution of disputes.
● Identify opportunities to improve credit policies, processes and procedures.
● Ensure accounts are managed in accordance with internal policies, financial controls and applicable regulations.
● Prepare reporting packages for multiple business units across monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
● Support month-end close activities.
● Participate in daily team activities and provide clear direction on priorities.
● Act as backup to the Credit Manager when required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a professional with significant hands-on commercial credit experience, strong business judgment and the confidence and maturity to lead and influence others.
The ideal candidate will have:
● 5+ years of progressive commercial credit experience; candidates with deeper experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
● Demonstrated experience leading complex credit and collections matters.
● Previous experience mentoring, training, coaching or guiding credit professionals.
● Strong credit judgment and the ability to make sound recommendations and manage escalated situations.
● Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
● Advanced Excel skills.
● A strong understanding of financial controls and related procedures.
● Experience in a publicly traded or large corporate environment is an asset.
● CCP designation is an asset.
● SAP experience is an asset.
● Flexibility to support additional hours during financial reporting cycles and global business requirements.
