Reporting to the Regional Survey Manager, the Survey Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering survey projects based out of our Fort McMurray, AB location. This operation provides a diverse suite of services, including Legal and Construction Surveying, Underground Utility Locating, 3D Laser Scanning, and UAV-based survey solutions. The Project Manager is accountable for supporting both new and existing survey opportunities, fostering strong client relationships, and coordinating field and office resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role includes managing multiple projects, supervising and mentoring survey staff, and serving as a positive leader within the operation. The Project Manager is also an active contributor to LN’s safety culture, ensuring all work is executed in accordance with LN standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements, while supporting the professional development and success of the team.
Qualifications, skills and experience
Post-secondary diploma in Geomatics or equivalent experience in the Geomatics industry
Professional Designation an asset, but not required
8 + years Geomatics Industry experience
3 + years of Field Survey Supervisory experience
Construction Survey experience is required
Extensive experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D & Trimble Business Center is required.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License (with a clean 5-year abstract)
CSTS, OSSA/BSO, First Aid and H2S Alive
Underground/Line Locating Certification and/or UAV Pilot License an asset
Experience managing survey projects/jobs and supervising personnel
Strong work ethic and proven reliability
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Proven ability to learn, take direction and accept coaching feedback
Passion for excellence and attention to detail
Desire to train and learn new skills

WORK CONDITIONS
This role will be located in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Relocation assistance and support will be made available. The position will be responsible for helping to support the continuous growth of LN’s largest operation. The position will be primarily office based but may require field work, and therefore it requires an individual who is comfortable working outdoors at times, and who is physically fit.
