Job Description
The Youth Worker will support the planning and delivery of youth programs that promote positive development, life skills, education, recreation, and community engagement.
The role focuses on creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and youth while encouraging leadership, teamwork, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver educational, recreational, and cultural youth activities
- Support youth engagement, mentorship, and leadership development
- Build positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners
- Maintain a safe and inclusive program environment
- Support program administration (attendance, records, reporting)
- Assist with community events and outreach activities
- Follow health, safety, and organizational policies
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education in Social Work, Child and Youth Care Worker, Community Services, Education, Psychology, Recreation, or related field is an asset
- Experience working with youth in a community or program setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusion and diversity
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Languages spoken within the communities served are considered an asset
