Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Dental Administrator Lead to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice. This leadership role requires a professional with strong administrative skills, dental office experience, and the ability to supervise staff effectively. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth clinic operations, maintain high standards of patient care, and support the administrative team in delivering exceptional service. The Dental Administrator Lead will play a vital role in managing electronic medical records, coordinating human resources functions, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the dental administrative team, including front desk staff and billing personnel
- Oversee patient scheduling, registration, and check-in/check-out processes using Dentrix or similar practice management software
- Manage electronic medical records ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with human resources functions such as onboarding new staff, training, and performance evaluations
- Monitor billing processes, insurance claims, and collections to optimize revenue cycle management
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental and healthcare services
- Support budgeting activities and resource allocation for the administrative department
- Ensure adherence to healthcare policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve administrative issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience in a dental office setting or medical office environment with a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology
- Supervisory or leadership experience managing administrative teams within healthcare settings
- Proficiency in Dentrix or comparable electronic medical records systems is essential
- Experience with human resources functions such as staffing, training, and performance management is preferred
- Knowledge of billing procedures, insurance processing, and collections practices
- Background in hospital or acute care settings is advantageous but not required
- Familiarity with budgeting processes within healthcare operations is a plus
- Prior experience in nursing or healthcare administration roles will be considered an asset
