Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Shuttle Driver & Houseperson to join our team. This dual-role position involves operating shuttle vehicles to transport guests and staff, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to safety and excellent service. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive guest experience while ensuring smooth operations within our property. Housepersons are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all public areas, guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, in addition to assisting room attendants to maintain the hotel’s high standards of service and cleanliness. They will also be required to drive the Airport Shuttle on a daily basis. BC Valid Class 4 driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
Responsibilities:
- Stock linen closets with amenities and supplies for room attendants; may include delivering supplies directly to room attendants.
- Empty room attendant carts of soiled linens and replenish as required
- Empty and dispose of garbage and trash receptacles in and around property.
- Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors. Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, elevators, hallways and public space.
- Vacuum, sweep, and/or mop hallways, stairwells, vending areas, foyers, public space.
- Flip mattresses and move furniture in guestrooms and public space as requested by supervisor.
- Assist with meeting and event space set up and tear down
- Ensure all health and safety cleaning is performed to meet local, regional, provincial and federal guidelines including additional pandemic cleaning.
- Report deficiencies and communicate to supervisor as required.
- Any other duties as requested by supervisor, management and/or ownership.
Shuttle Driver Duties
- Safely transport hotel guests using the hotel shuttle vehicle to and from designated locations
- Provide courteous, professional, and friendly service while interacting with guests
- Assist guests with luggage when required
- Ensure the shuttle vehicle is clean, well‑maintained and fueled
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate trip logs and report any vehicle issues immediately
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations and hotel policies

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and exterior grounds.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on shuttle vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist guests with luggage and provide exceptional customer service during transportation.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and traffic laws while driving.
- Support general housekeeping duties as needed, including restocking supplies and light cleaning tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members and guests to facilitate smooth operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Flexible – able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must have a valid BC driver's Class 4 licence and clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to drive an Airport Shuttle van on a daily basis.
- Excellent work ethic; must be honest and work well with others.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and theories normally acquired in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and relevant work experience.
- A thorough understanding of customer service
- Marriott or hotel chain working experience is an asset however, extensive training will be provided; both on the job and online.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbally and/or non-verbally) to guests and Associates.
- Self-starter and great disposition.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Willing to “pitch-in”, support co- workers and a team player.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods of time. Note: Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
