Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Livestock Worker to join our hog farming operation. This is a full-time position suited for a individual who is comfortable working with animals in a farm environment. 2 locations: 927 concession 12 Paisley ON and 2095 Concession 14 Cargill ON
Eligibility:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and must live within 30 min from hog farm. Benefit plan available after 6 months of full time employment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Feed and care for hogs according to established farm procedures
- Monitor animal health and report any signs of illness or injury
- Clean and maintain pens, barns, and equipment
- Assist with breeding, farrowing, and weaning processes
- Moving sows into rotation
- Work with real time ultrasound for pregnancy testing.
- Pressure washing.
- Assist with farrowing including monitoring sows, helping with births, and ensuring piglet safety
- Provide piglet care (processing, fostering, and monitoring early health)
- Maintain proper ventilation, temperature, and sanitation standards
- Administer basic treatments or medications as directed
- Operate feeding equipment.
- Record daily activities and production data
- Help out with all other farm duties as they arise.
- Follow all farm safety and biosecurity protocols
Requirements:
- Ability to work physically, combiantion of walking, sitting, bending, and repetitive tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including every other weekend ( half days)
- Attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare
- Must be able to write and speak english.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of meaning full experience on large hog farming operation.
