Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our amazing dental practice in downtown Edmonton. We have an experienced, well-trained group of clinicians and administrative staff. We're hoping to find the right person to make our team even better.
The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients alongside two other administrative team members.
This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with dental software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience as a dental assistant is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in efficiently upon arrival
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and handle appointment requests
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions at the front desk
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure timely patient flow and appointment adherence
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
- Ensure the reception area is clean, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Dental Administrator is mandatory
- Experience with a practice management software such as Dentrix is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Office experience with administrative responsibilities in a dental environment
- Familiarity with dental office procedures and insurance verification processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor to provide exceptional patient service
