Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing, masonry, and related trades, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves transforming raw concrete into smooth, durable surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications. Experience with heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, and various hand and power tools is essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping using hand tools and power tools.
- Install rebar and formwork according to schematics and blueprints to prepare for concrete pouring.
- Operate heavy equipment safely for tasks such as lifting and moving materials.
- Perform masonry work, including restoration and renovation projects involving concrete structures.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of work.
- Use carpentry skills for framing, form building, and other related tasks.
- Apply caulking and sealants to joints and seams for waterproofing and finishing touches.
- Conduct welding or other metalwork as needed for reinforcement or structural purposes.
- Assist with flooring installation and other related renovation activities as required.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling tools, materials, and debris.
- Follow safety protocols including heavy lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction equipment and tools.
- Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques with hands-on experience.
- Strong masonry skills including rebar installation and concrete forming.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, floats, chisels, and hammers; as well as power tools like grinders and drills.
- Experience with restoration or renovation projects involving concrete structures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomics.
- Familiarity with welding techniques for reinforcement or structural modifications.
- Capable of flooring installation if required for specific projects.
