The Position:
Reporting to senior leadership, the General Manager (Associate Broker) will provide strategic oversight across a diverse real estate portfolio while supporting the continued growth of the organization's property management and brokerage operations.
This role combines portfolio management, team leadership, operational oversight, client relationship management, and business development. In addition to overseeing existing assets and operations, the successful candidate will play an active role in growing the company's third-party property management platform by identifying and securing new business opportunities.
The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the leadership team, working closely with ownership while helping drive performance across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Oversight & Asset Performance
- Provide leadership and oversight across commercial, retail, office, industrial, strata, and residential rental assets.
- Monitor property performance, operating budgets, capital expenditures, and overall portfolio results.
- Identify opportunities to enhance asset value through operational efficiencies, risk mitigation strategies, and targeted capital initiatives.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic portfolio initiatives and long-term planning.
Property Management Leadership
- Lead and support property management teams across the portfolio.
- Provide guidance on complex tenant, operational, and stakeholder matters.
- Ensure lease administration, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance standards are consistently maintained.
- Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and service excellence.
- Support the implementation of policies, procedures, and operational best practices.
Leasing, Brokerage & Client Relations
- Collaborate on leasing strategies, tenant retention initiatives, and deal structuring.
- Provide operational and asset management input to support leasing decisions.
- A key component of this role will be contributing to the growth of the company's third-party property management platform. The successful candidate will be expected to actively cultivate new business opportunities, develop industry relationships, and support the acquisition of new third-party management assignments. This responsibility is considered a core function of the position and will be an important measure of success.
- Assist with onboarding new third-party clients and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Support the continued growth of the firm's property management and brokerage platform
Strategic Initiatives & Process Improvement
- Assist with the transition of newly acquired or developed assets into the portfolio.
- Support capital project planning and implementation.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting, and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, licensing requirements, and industry regulations.
The Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated real estate professional with a strong foundation in property management, proven leadership experience, and a desire to play a strategic role within a growing organization.
Qualifications:
- Associate Broker License in British Columbia for Rental Property Management and Strata, or eligibility to obtain licensing.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in property management, portfolio management, real estate operations, or asset management.
- Experience overseeing multiple asset classes including commercial, industrial, office, retail, strata, and residential properties.
- Strong understanding of property operations, leasing structures, budgeting, capital planning, and portfolio performance.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and implementing operational improvements.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze budgets, financial statements, and capital plans.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of operating independently within a senior leadership environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and building long-term client relationships.
- Proven business development experience with the ability to identify, cultivate, and secure new third-party property management opportunities through networking, relationship building, and industry engagement.

Compensation:
