Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet quality standards.
- Manage kitchen staff by recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, and supervising team members to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and sanitation compliance in accordance with health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels; order supplies and ingredients to prevent shortages while controlling waste and costs.
- Enforce food safety protocols and cleanliness standards consistently across the kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment with strong team management skills.
- Extensive food industry knowledge including food preparation, cooking techniques, and restaurant management principles.
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros or similar platforms; familiarity with cash handling procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in interviewing, training, and developing staff.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
In this hourly role, tips are paid on top of your hourly rate. Tips work out to 3 to 4 dollars or more per hour extra and is paid daily so pay for this position will be closer to 27 to 28 dollars per hour.
