Washoku Bistro is a locally owned Japanese and Korean fusion restaurant in Edmonton. We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Cook to join our team.
Whether you already have experience in Japanese/Korean cuisine or are eager to learn, we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well with others, and can maintain quality during busy service periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards
- Assist with daily food preparation and ingredient portioning
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
- Keep kitchen stations clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Work efficiently during lunch and dinner service
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members
- Assist with receiving and organizing inventory deliveries
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant kitchen experience is preferred
- Japanese or Korean cuisine experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Food Safe certification is an asset
