Tomahawk Customs & Detail Ltd. is looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined Automotive Customization & 12V Installation Technician to join our small, hands-on team.
We are a specialty automotive shop, so this isn't a repetitive production-line position. Our work varies from vehicle to vehicle and can include mechanical work, aftermarket accessories, custom audio, remote starters, 12V wiring, fabrication, suspension and other custom automotive projects.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate has experience or a strong working knowledge of:
- General automotive mechanical work
- 12-volt automotive wiring and electrical
- Car audio installation, including amps, speakers and subwoofers
- Remote starter and aftermarket accessory installation
- Troubleshooting electrical and installation issues
- Custom fabrication and building/modifying components
- Using power tools, hand tools and shop equipment
- Disassembling and reassembling vehicle interiors and components carefully
- Reading instructions, wiring diagrams and installation information
Requirements
- Must have your own tools
- Valid driver's licence
- Mechanically inclined with good problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working on a variety of vehicles, including newer, older and custom vehicles
- Able to work independently and take direction when required
- Takes pride in clean, organized and professional workmanship
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Able to communicate well with management and other team members
- Respectful of customers' vehicles, tools and the shop
- Willing to learn and take on different types of projects
Previous automotive, 12V, car audio, remote start or fabrication experience is strongly preferred.

Please note that we are a small specialty shop and cannot guarantee full-time Journeyman/mechanical hours. This may be a good fit for a Journeyman looking for part-time or flexible work who is also interested in custom vehicles, fabrication, electrical, audio, suspension and aftermarket installations.

We are a small, locally owned specialty shop where everyone plays an important role. Because we are a smaller team, reliability and punctuality are extremely important. We need someone who shows up on time, ready to work, and can be counted on by the rest of the team.
We focus on quality over quantity. We would rather see a job completed carefully and correctly than rushed out the door.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting at $20.00/hour – wage dependent on experience and skill level
- Higher starting wage may be considered for candidates with proven mechanical, 12V, audio, remote start and/or fabrication experience
- Journeyman wage to be discussed separately based on experience and availability

- 90-day probationary period
