We’re Hiring: Machining & Welding Labourer!
At LJ Welding Automation, we don’t just build machines — we shape the future of welding technology. From manufacturing rockets for space exploration to automating wind tower production, our global team drives some of the world’s most ambitious engineering projects.
Right now, our production team in Edmonton is growing, and we are looking for a motivated, safety-focused Labourer (Machining/Welding) to help keep our shop floor running at peak performance.
What the Role Involves:
This is a versatile, hands-on role where you will directly support our welders, machinists, and saw operators. You’ll be the engine that keeps our manufacturing environment organized, efficient, and safe.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting welders with material staging, part setup, and clearing weld spatter or sharp edges using grinders.
- Staging raw materials and tooling across milling, turning, and sawing areas.
- Keeping walking paths clear, sweeping shavings, and managing shop sorting and scrap metal bins.
- Getting trained up to perform specialized, high-precision broaching work.
- Moving heavy parts and raw steel using carts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and forklifts (once certified).
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience in a shop, manufacturing, labor, or welding environment is a huge asset.
- Skills: Comfort working with basic hand and power tools, and a high aptitude to learn new shop processes.
- Traits: A strong safety mindset, sharp attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Capability: Comfort standing for long periods and safely lifting/moving materials up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
What’s In It For You?
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
- Strong work–life balance in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
- Comprehensive training—we will invest in your skills, from deburring standards to specialized machine operation and material handling.
- A collaborative, inclusive culture where your hard work truly makes an impact.
