Description:
AHS - Environmental Public Health is commencing recruitment for placement of students requiring practicum training as part of their required field experience. The Environmental Public Health Student field experience includes 12 weeks of practicum in the program areas of food protection, disease control, built environments, waste management, water quality, and air quality. Additionally, there will be a 4-week project in a sub program area for a total of 16 weeks. Major responsibilities include working under the supervision of a Certified Public Health Inspector to enforce the Public Health Act, Regulations, Standards, and Guidelines. The student will complete a project under the direction of a Project Coordinator within the allotted 4-week timeline. Please Note: This position will end on or before January 08, 2027.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline applicable to Environmental Health or graduation from a program of Environmental Health studies required. Membership with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors is required. Foreign candidates must attach a letter from the Board of Certification (Canada) confirming that the candidate has passed the Foreign Trained Candidate Equivalency Exam.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Academic transcript is required to be submitted. Proof of completion of academic portion of training, if possible.
