Howitt Construction is a busy excavation company based out of Red Deer. We're looking for an experienced dayshift compactor operator for a site preparation project located 1.5 hrs NW of Whitecourt. Transportation will be provided from Whitecourt to/from work site. Work contract is short term, approx 10-14 days, start date is Sept 2, 2026.
Candidates must be able to perform all the skills in the Scope of Work, and work in a safe manner following all policies and procedures.
Work Details
- 11 hrs/shift + 1.5 hr of drive time,
- 7 days a week, long weekends off (4 days),
- Hotel/LOA available,
- Transportation provided to and from work.
Packer Scope of Work
- Minimum of 5 months experience,
- Operate machine safely,
- Maintain consistent distance when operating around other equipment,
- Complete walk arounds,
- Fuel and grease own machine.
PPE Requirements
- Steel toed boots,
- High visibility safety vest,
- Safety glasses,
- Hard hat,
- Gloves.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
