We are currently looking for a Light Duty Mechanic to support our client Agnico Eagle – Detour Lake Mine, Ontario.
This temporary position is required to support the Mobile Maintenance Light Vehicle Shop during a paternity leave replacement, followed by additional vacation coverage.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Light Duty Mechanic is responsible for safely performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on the site's light vehicle fleet and support equipment to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on light-duty vehicles;
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues efficiently and safely;
- Complete maintenance tasks according to company standards and procedures;
- Maintain accurate documentation and work orders;
- Follow all site safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment;
- Support the maintenance team with various tasks as required;
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
- Ontario Provincial/Interprovincial Red Seal Automotive Service Technician (310S) certification considered an asset;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on mobile equipment in a mining or industrial environment;
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices;
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills;
- Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset;
- Ability to work on a rotating schedule.
- Temporary full-time position;
- Salary between $40-$55/hr depending on experience and qualifications;
- 14 days on / 14 days off rotation;
- 12-hour shifts (day and night shifts depending on operational needs);
- Starting July 22, 2026, for a paternity leave replacement until October, followed by additional vacation coverage;
- Fly-in / Fly-out work schedule;
- Transportation to and from the mine site provided (charter flight and/or ground transportation depending on employee's location);
- Camp accommodations and meals provided;
- Work clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided;
