Overview
The Project Manager is the accountable leader for project delivery, working closely with the Superintendent to execute facility and pipeline integrity work, capital upgrade programs, and new construction across mechanical and civil disciplines—on schedule and within budget. The PM oversees field indirect staff and maintains full lifecycle responsibility from bid development through final completion, driving cohesive project performance and supporting informed field level construction decisions. The role also serves as a primary client interface, ensuring strong relationships, clear communication, and project delivery that consistently meets expectations and reinforces long term trust
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project
- Contribute to the creation of project estimates and project closeout reviews
- Develop, implement and manage a project-specific project management and control plan for each project
- Work with the Superintendents in the development of the project execution plan
- Lead and facilitate project meetings with client personnel
- Implement and manage the project execution plan to ensure the success of the project
- Lead the project teams in the development of the project construction methodology and procedures
- Manage and administer all project reporting requirements internally and externally
- Utilize all corporate project systems and processes to meet the project deliverables
- Manage and maximize the use of project resources to effectively deliver projects on time and on budget
- Monitor and manage the project change management process
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor relations and administrative processes
- Support operations and functional management in the achievement of corporate initiatives
- Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward company goals and objectives
- Monitor field compliance with company procedures and financial targets
- Develop and implement work processes to promote effectiveness and consistency of results
- Direct and coordinate activities of crew personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
- Support site management in root causing and in solving issues impacting the company including communicating with customers
- Aid in the resolution of internal and client-related conflicts or issues
- Perform weekly risk assessments and present to project sponsors
Qualifications
- Leadership for Safety Excellence
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering; and/or combination of education and relevant experience
Experience
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in an oil and gas construction project management or project supervision role
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent understanding of the construction industry scope
- Ability to read and understand relevant construction documents including contracts, drawings, specifications, subcontracts, construction codes, standards, and practices
- Familiar with relevant construction codes, standards, and practices
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions
- Optimistic/collaborative approach and attitude towards work with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience and skills in related programs such as Ariba, FieldCap, Hard Dollar and P6 as required by the company
- Excellent communication skills: written and verbal skills, listening skills, organization abilities, proven attention to detail, and ability to develop good working relationships with inside and outside organizations
Working Conditions
- The position is a mixed location base between field and remote or home office primarily dictated by project needs.
