Position Overview: We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) who thrives in a patient-centered, high-touch environment and is passionate about delivering proactive, relationship-based care. This role focuses on providing exceptional support to our Premier Care patients while assisting with comprehensive annual health assessments designed to promote prevention, early detection, and long-term wellness.
As an RN/RPN at Durand Integrated Health, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based, comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population. Working under the supervision of our physicians and collaboratively with our Nurse Practitioner and multidisciplinary paramedical team, you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and overall well-being.
This is not a traditional clinical role—it is an opportunity to practice healthcare with the time, tools, and collaborative support to do it right. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing patients both in-person and virtually, while helping create a seamless, elevated care experience that reflects Durand’s commitment to personalized, prevention-focused healthcare.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a private out-patient setting
- Promote health and wellness through education and preventive care measures
- Interact with patients compassionately and professionally, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and concerns
Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Perform accurate and timely assessments of patients' vital signs, including but not limited to blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
- Adhere to established protocols and standards for vital signs assessment
- Contribute to quality assurance initiatives to enhance the accuracy and reliability of critical signs data
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations
- Employ appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure precise measurements
- Complete other medical testing as instructed by the supervising physicians- including but not required- vitals, resting RMR, EKG, VO2 Max, Exercise Stress Test, Baseline Body Composition- Training Available
Treatment and Management:
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed
- Phlebotomy as required
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
- Formulate treatment strategies as directed by the supervising physicians
- Ensure plans are aligned with overall care objectives, providing a cohesive approach to patient health.
Collaborative Care:
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Share insights and findings with other medical team members to ensure comprehensive care and communication
Qualifications:
- Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing as an RN or RPN
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing from a Canadian-approved university OR An approved Ontario college diploma in nursing
- 2+ Years of clinical experience as an RN or RPN
- Experience with administering medication and phlebotomy
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR - Level BLS
- Excellent communication, accurate documentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience in family practice or primary health care
- Experience in IV therapy is a bonus
- Proficiency in both in-person and virtual health consultations
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills

- Ultrasound, EKG/ECG diagnostic testing experience an asset
