The family is navigating this new territory and needs reliable support to ensure her safety, comfort, and quality of life while providing respite for her husband.
Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and supervision during visits
- Assist with bathing and personal hygiene as needed
- Support with mobility and safe transfers throughout the home
- Prepare meals and ensure proper nutrition
- Perform light housekeeping including vacuuming, tidying, and laundry
- Offer memory prompts and gentle redirection when confusion occurs
- Maintain a calm, patient presence that promotes comfort and dignity
What We're Looking For:
- Female caregiver required
- English-speaking
- Experience supporting clients with memory changes and cognitive challenges
- Ability to assist with personal care tasks with sensitivity and respect
- Comfortable providing mobility and transfer assistance
- Patient, calm demeanor with strong communication skills
- Reliable and consistent—someone who takes initiative and respects independence
- Brings positive energy while understanding the challenges of chronic pain and confusion
Schedule:
Wednesdays: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM Fridays: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Total of 4 hours per week. The family plans a one-week trip to British Columbia in mid-October, during which care will be paused. Schedule may increase based on evolving needs. The husband will be present for the first few visits to facilitate introductions and ensure comfort. His daughter will also be available during the initial Wednesday visit.
This is the family's first experience with home care. They value consistency and are looking for someone who will become a trusted, familiar presence. The ideal caregiver will help maintain routines, provide peace of mind, and support both the client and her husband through this transition.
