Reporting to the Manager of Public Works, the Roads Supervisor is responsible of overseeing the year-round infrastructure programs and projects including road maintenance of all roadways, construction, public works operations and other municipal activities as required. The Roads Supervisor must possess a minimum of five (5) years of direct supervisory and leadership experience in a comparable position and demonstrated ability to effectively lead personnel, oversee operations, budget control, make sound decisions, and maintain high standards of performance and accountability is essential.
Key Qualifications:
· Post-Secondary education: Civil Engineering (C.E.T) & Certified Roads Supervisor Accreditation.
· Minimum five (5) years of direct supervisory and leadership experience in a comparable position.
· Able to respond to emergency callouts within one-half hour.
· Excellent communication and public relations skills, record-keeping and organizational skills.
· Extensive experience in road, water and sewer construction, surveying and in the operation of backhoes, graders, dozers, snowplows, etc.
· Valid Class “DZ” Driver’s License in good standing.
This is a full-time position, involving 40 hours per week which may include overtime and various shifts (days, evenings, weekends).
