Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager/Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a busy restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service, along with proven leadership and team management skills. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality service to deliver an exceptional dining experience. The Kitchen Manager/Supervisor will play a key role in coordinating kitchen activities, managing food handling procedures, and supporting overall restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes
- Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Oversee food quality control to maintain high standards of presentation and taste
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock to prevent shortages or waste
- Implement and enforce sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth serving operations and excellent customer service
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control initiatives
- Monitor kitchen workflow to optimize efficiency during busy service hours
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints related to food quality or service when necessary
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Excellent team management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Experience with restaurant management systems and inventory control
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills for effective coordination with staff and customers
- Food industry experience with a focus on hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for team members and uphold high standards of service
