Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Elevator Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting elevator systems in a variety of settings, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, along with experience in elevator maintenance and service. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex elevator systems and contribute to the safety and efficiency of building operations.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on elevator systems, including both electrical and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills to identify root causes.
- Repair or replace components such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, motors, switches, and control panels.
- Utilize computer software to document work orders, maintenance history, and parts inventory.
- Conduct testing to ensure elevators operate safely and efficiently following repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct Category 1 and Category 5 testing, as well as assist with TSSA inspections.
- Collaborate with building management and clients to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
- Follow company safety policies.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used; interpret schematics for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Assist in training or mentoring apprentice technicians when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Elevator Mechanic or in industrial maintenance with a focus on elevator systems.
- Experience with hydraulic elevator systems and accessibility lifts is beneficial.
- Strong electrical experience, including low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Mechanical knowledge related to elevators.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Experience working with CMMS software for maintenance tracking.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to elevator installation and maintenance.
- Good customer service skills for interacting with clients or building occupants professionally.
- Fluency in English is required for effective communication within the team and documentation purposes. This role is vital for maintaining safe and reliable elevator operations across various facilities while providing opportunities for professional growth within the industrial maintenance field.

Pay: $30.00-$55.00 per hour
