Security Guard - Full Time - New Groves Hospital

Site: New Groves Hospital
Hours: Continental Nights (1900-0700)
Payrate: $20.24/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement after 88 Hours

Key responsibilities:

Conduct regular patrols of the hospital, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure site safety and security.

Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately to the appropriate authorities.

Control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.

Respond quickly to emergencies and assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations.

Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff by providing directions and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.

De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and handle all interactions calmly and professionally.

Accurately document daily activities, incidents, accidents, breaches, and security concerns.

Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to maintain a coordinated security effort and ensure everyone's safety.

Ensure visitor and patient protocols are followed, addressing violations in accordance with hospital safety standards.
Requirements:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
-
Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
-
Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella , Covid Vaccine two doses, and two step TB skin test

English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
Must have one year experience in healthcare security, or law enforcement

Legally authorized to work in Canada
-
Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
-
Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
-
Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
